JEFF ANZELONE – Drums

Jeff Anzelone is an award-winning drummer hailing from Pittsburgh, PA. Jeff’s been playing drum set for over 35 years and has performed with a multitude of musical acts over his professional career. In addition to laying down the groove with DaPhunk Band, Jeff is also lighting up stages with one of the hottest tribute acts in the area, Smells Like the 90’s, specializing in all of the 90’s Alternative and Grunge hits.

Jeff has a B.A. in Music Performance from the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt Jazz Band) and spent a year of intensive study at Berklee College of Music before breaking out on a musical journey that has seen Jeff perform with such acts as: James Rivera (Hellstar), Sabbath Judas Sabbath, Sacred Dominion, Union of Souls, XDB, Ghost of War, Identity Crisis and many more. Jeff has shared the big stage with Kiss, Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Mr. Big, Iced Earth, Stryper, Dio’s Disciples, Metal Church, Adrenaline Mob and Stryper to name a few.

Jeff was voted “Best Drummer” in 2011 and again in 2013 by voters in the Iron City Rocks Pittsburgh Music Awards. Jeff also co-wrote and performed on Sacred Dominion’s award-winning debut album “The Inside” which won “Best Album” 2011 at the ICRPMA. Jeff has also performed with BB Steal – 80’s Live, a premier 80’s Tribute.

One of Jeff’s strengths is his ability to play in multiple styles. Jeff’s influences are vast including Jazz, Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Progressive and most Contemporary genres. Jeff has several recordings released and continues to write original material. Jeff teaches drum instruction locally and online. Jeff enjoys being part of the DaPhunk “groove machine” rhythm section and recreating those iconic funk-infused dance grooves!
