Dave started playing piano when he was five, at age 10 he wanted to play sax but was deferred to clarinet until proper technique was developed. Around Age 13 Dave started to play Tenor Sax then Alto shortly after.

At age fifteen Dave joined his first rock group called Stonehedge.  They played anything that had sax in it from the seventies. In 1975 he became a member of Axys, it featured a female phenom drummer named Linda Mackley. She was niece to local drum legend Babe Fabrizi. Linda would move on to New York and become a successful studio artist.

In 1978 Dave played with Backstreet who would later become The Trees. They recorded several songs that were put to plastic . Dave was featured on sax in the "Winning Side of Love " single . Dave also sang backup on "Winning Side" and "How on Earth" which was the flip side and would get air play on WKPA radio. Shortly after, Dave wrote, produced and sang lead on "I Like When She Talks Dirty To Me" and it was released and promoted on the EP record format. They got air play on WKPA, AM side of WYDD and warmed up for two national acts.  Dave didn't start back to playing any organized music until 2002 when he would help form the group "Second Shift " with some high school pals.

Dave enjoys listening to Brecker Bros, David Sanborn, Dave Koz and Gerald Albright.  Dave's biggest influence would have been Sanborn.
