You wont find a Funkier Guitar Player in Pittsburgh.... That's a promise!

Dan has been playing guitar for about 20 years and has been a professional musician, playing shows nearly every weekend for 10 years.  He founded, sang, and played guitar in Pittsburgh's #1 Disco/Funk act: "SEX" for 6 years.  Also, Dan was the front-man/lead singer for "Dirty Otto", 80's rock band, for 7 months.  Dan has been performing live acoustic shows himself as "The Acoustic Man" for the past 3 years.  He previously played with DaPhunk Band members: Heath Kipp and Bob Rotto in the band "Plush Monkey", doing 70's Progressive Jazz Rock hits.  Dan recorded and co-wrote a CD with a Funk/Alternative/Rap 3 piece group called: "Liquorbox".  The title of their release is "Sons of Funk". 

Dan's main guitar is a Fender Stratocaster, however he also plays Ibanez and Alverez Guitars.  Dan also uses a Marshall half stack to get his signature sound.  Effects processing used includes: a DOD envelope filter and a Electro Harmonix - Big Muff.

Dan was heavily influenced by Eddie Van Halen early on in his guitar playing career.  More recent influences include: Jimmy Nolen, Phelps "Catfish" Collins, and Hearlon "Cheese" Martin, all from the James Brown Band.  Dan is also heavily influenced by Andy Summers from The Police.

When Dan is not gettin' his Funk on, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Natalie, canoeing on the river, and hiking.
